Gentlemen (and Lally and Karen), drop your T-bones.

New column up here.

This is bound to be a crowd pleaser! :-/

Brian and Lally, two of my biggest Urbanagora allies on the left, part ways with me on this issue, and God only knows what I have coming from Tom. Let the gang-up begin.

Hey, Hardaway! Suck my d***.

OK, so my DI column this week is not as confrontational as the title of this post. But it does tackle a sensitive subject: homophobia in the black community. My emphasis here is on homophobic black celebrities, whose comments can have a strong influence of millions of impressionable black youth, but it’s certainly a problem within the broader African American community as well.

Check it
, and if you’re so inclined, wreck it.

Oh, and I spotted a comma error that was NOT in my original version. Just sayin’.

New DI Column: Critiquing the Critics…

…is up: Critiquing the Critics.

An Introduction

Hey, all. Greetings from the most recent addition to Urbanagora. I begin humbly, with my recently published columns in the Daily Illini. First, there is this column about Vice President Cheney’s recent faux outrage, which reached #3 on U-Wire (the college newspaper service that allows other newspapers to use other schools’ material for guest columns). I also did this point-counterpoint with Eric Naing (his position here) debating whether Senator Jim Webb should be the Democratic vice presidential nominee.

Enjoy!
