Segen, I agree with you from a legal standpoint (I'd say even Jesse White would point out that his signature means nothing), but from a momentum standpoint White's "endorsement" was huge; I truly believe that the Senate wanted to seat Burris, but only if they could separate him from Blago in any way possible. White served as a useful excuse.

And hey, I enjoy the feedback on cartoons, even the criticism, so thanks everyone!

I think the cartoons are great...why is everyone being so damn critical? If you have a better idea, draw your own damn cartoon!

I'm wondering of Gordon can draw Blago with his outrageous hair. I think in some ways Gordon's cartoons seem like they are classical political cartoons, much like the sort of cartoon one would see in the 19th century. I love it.

I think it turned out that White certified that the govs appointment paper was a "true and accurate copy" which the US Senate deemed sufficient, rather than signing the "certification" line of the the appointment paper. Given how things turned out, this cartoon may have been prescient.

I feel like this cartoon is moot because the state supreme court ruled that jesse white's signature is not necessary to seat burris. jesse white signing burris in is not going to much of a help to burris now.
