What does Buffett’s support say about Obama
I’d recommend Andy Tobais for investment advice and political commentary. Tobias wrote “The only investment guide you’ll ever need” a highly readable book offering very practical, step by step ideas on how to build wealth slowly.
He has a comment up today, that I wanted to submit to the Agora for discussion on Warren Buffett’s support for Obama:
HOW DID WARREN BUFFETT GET SO RICH?
He started with nothing, inherited nothing, made it all by his wits. How? By being uncommonly smart, sure, but also by being wise, which is different, and uncommonly thoughtful; uncommonly decent, which has attracted decency in return; by taking the long view and sorting out what’s important; and – crucially – by being a good judge of talent: knowing which chief executives to bet on.
What does it say about Senator Obama that for the first time ever Warren Buffett has taken an active role in a modern Presidential election, hosting and headlining fundraisers to make Barack Obama our next chief executive?
What does it say about the urgency of the situation?
What does it say about Senator McCain?

His support says absolutely nothing. A super successful investor is probably right 60% of the time and wrong 40% of the time. So I will grant you the 60% chance, but nothing more than that.

Well Gee Wiz Billy, that sure was persuasive

The fact that Warren Buffett is supporting Obama says he believes Obama’s policies will help guide and mend the falthering American economy. It also indicates that he thinks Barack is a decent, intellegent man. Otherwise, Buffett , who is a man of decency and integerty himself, whould not be supporting Obama.

Terry, Thanks for the comment and welcome to the Agora. I couldn’t agree more.

I could say it has to do with the fact Obama’s tax policy favors Buffett at the expense of family owned businesses. But pay no attention to Buffett’s life insurance holdings nor his purchases of undervalued family businesses with estate taxes to pay…
Buffett endorsed Kerry in 2004 and Clinton in the 1990s.
