Appropriate quote for these uncertain economic times

Yesterday's powerful 400 point market surge was largely reversed by a 300 point fall today. My fear of the economic end times has grown so severe that I now almost dread seeing the super sexy Erin Burnett every morning on MSNBC. As we ponder the tough times that may be ahead, this quote seems appropriate:
"A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it." - Bob Hope
"A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove that you don't need it." - Bob Hope

It seems like the more accurate quote in these times would be, "A bank is a place that will lend you money whether you can pay it back or not, because they can always find some sucker who will invest in bad mortgages out of a faulty trust in the value of homes, and it's no skin off their nose if you get thrown out on the street."
But admittedly that would have impaired the ease of comic delivery.
That was a better comment than Billy could have possibly written. Your superiority as a contributor is becoming more apparent day by day, in terms of quantity, quality, and originality.
Brian...are you also "Anonymous" in this thread?
:-)
aside:
whoa...the stupid word verification thing that google makes you fill out in order to post a comment almost spelled "orgasm"...
Chill Augur, you've already lived through 2 recessions, I'm sure you'll live through this one too.
Recessions are like hangovers, they are what keeps everyone from getting totally sh*t faced on liquor (or on cheap money) every night and doing stupid things.
What a great analogy, Allan.
