Rose Bowl Baby!!!

Even after double checking in seven or eight different news sources, it’s still hard for me to believe, but for the first time since the mid-80s our beloved Fighting Illini are going to the Rose Bowl. The Daily Illini has ticket information. Here’s a link to ESPN’s coverage.

If any of you cats are going to be going, I’m from the area and will be in town at the time. Planning on camping overnight for the parade then hitting a bar for the game or something.

Congratulations to the entire team, but specifically to all of the seniors who were a part of a program that only won 8 games combined the previous 4 years. Many of them played a big role in starting what will become a winning tradition here.
I’m a huge sports fan, and this season ranks up there as one of the most fun seasons I’ve had as a fan. It’s extra sweet when you’ve been there for the thin times.
In case anyone’s curious, there were lines outside (in freezing cold weather)for tickets of up to 6or 7 hours today, with the line wrapping around Assembly Hall.
