Hanno, "merciful" or "mild" in Punic. There were many famous men named Hanno during Carthage's domination of the Western Mediterranean Sea. This particular Hanno was a cavalry commander under Hannibal during the Second Punic War who led the Numidian skirmisher cavalry on their tough desert ponies.
The current incarnation of Hanno was the product of a hamster and a man with a strange predilection for elderberry wine. He came of age in an unnamed metropolitan area somewhere East of the Pacific Ocean, but West of the Atlantic, North of the Gulf, but South of the Great Lakes. He is an avid reader, raucous drinker, and sometime womanizer.
Hanno is also a flying squirrel.
